"The wound is the place where the Light enters" - Rumi
It can be easy to lose sight of who we are in the face of social pressures and stress. I hold therapy as a space where we work together to identify points of stagnation in order to move towards greater agency and an unfolding towards a more embodied way of living.
I am loving, collaborative, and honest. I hold the therapeutic relationship as one where we give attention to what may want to emerge, whether that looks like grief, shame, trauma, or uncomfortable memories. As a compassionate witness of the uniqueness of your particular journey, I also see you as the expert of your lived experience. I hold structures of oppression accountable to much of the suffering we go through. I bring curiosity and gentleness as we explore how your psyche and body may have organized to keep you safe but repeating unconscious and unwanted patterns. We’ll explore this through conversation, through noticing what arises in your body, and even through what shows up in the space between us.
I am trauma-informed and hold firm belief in the wisdom of the body. I provide a space to process what once may have been overwhelming in order to build capacity to see ourselves more clearly. I am depth-oriented, and see suffering as a marker, a sign that something deeper is asking for our attention in the name of building a life that is steadier, fuller, and more authentic to ourselves. I hope to make space for you to listen to that inner voice and embody that wisdom into everyday life. I am down-to-earth and grounded, and I believe joy and laughter are essential parts of healing. I welcome them into our sessions alongside the harder emotions.
I welcome anyone who feels drawn to working together.
I am especially curious about working with whom the following resonates:
Diasporic identities, 1.5 and second generation Asian American experiences.
BIPOC queer and trans folx.
Those who tend to lose themselves while in relationship to others.
High achievers, critical thinkers, and perfectionists.
Highly sensitive souls, artists, activists, dreamers, and those who feel like they exist in liminal spaces.
Those who are used to holding complexity and nuance.
Anyone seeking to build connection with self, self/other, and self/the non-human world.
Those who carry a grief that feels too large to hold.
It would be an honor to walk beside you. Please reach out for a free 20 minute consultation if you believe we may be a fit.
